Last week, our #NCHS juniors traveled to Broadway to see The Great Gatsby musical after reading the novel in class. It was a great experience for students to see firsthand how Fitzgerald’s iconic story of dreams, excess, and tragedy was transformed for the stage. A spectacular way to deepen our understanding of literature and history! 🎭📖

Congratulations to Alex Coco (‘08) on Anora’s incredible 5 Oscar wins, including Best Picture! 🏆🎬 Anora dominated the night, winning Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Director, and Best Actress for Mikey Madison.
His passion for filmmaking started right here at #NCHS and led him to collaborate with Sean Baker and Samantha Quan to bring this powerful story to the big screen.
Coco hopes the film’s success inspires others to pursue independent filmmaking: “If you’re trying to make independent films, keep doing it. We need more. This is proof.”
Congrats Alex! Way to make #NCHS proud!!

🌟#StudentSpotlight x TEDx Talk!🌟 Meet Zane Tickoo, a junior at #NCHS, who’s inspiring TEDx talk is giving us all food for thought! 🥦🚜
On December 1st, Zane took the stage at TEDx Hartford to explore the journey from farm to table and how small steps—like supporting local farmers and community gardens—can spark meaningful change 🌱
His message goes beyond healthy eating—it’s a passionate call to rethink agriculture and embrace sustainability for a better quality of life. His talk is a powerful reminder that the choices we make today shape the world of tomorrow. 🌍💚💡

Who would win? Author vs. Author Edition! 📚🐊
Exciting day! On Tuesday, #WestSchool welcomed the incredible Jerry Pallotta, author of the “Who Would Win?” series, to stop by and talk to our students.
But that’s not all! - During his talk, our librarian shared how one of our very own #WestSchool students, 4th grader, Patrick Molloy, was so inspired by Jerry’s books that we wrote his own for the school library - and it’s been checked out a whopping 42 times! 🎉🙌
Jerry was so impressed that he invited Patrick on stage to celebrate and sign his book! What a moment! This is proof that when kids set their minds to something, they can achieve anything! 🚀💫
