#FridaySmiles This week was all about moving up! 🔴👟 Over at #SaxeIS, our 4th graders got a taste of 5th grade fun with a tour of the middle school facilities and a glimpse into life beyond elementary school. Meanwhile, in the auditorium, our students spent time in ‘promotion hour’ to hear from their 6th grade peers about what’s ahead as they move up to #SaxeMS.
📚Thank you to the #WestSchool PTC for bringing author Nick Bruel to campus yesterday! Our students loved learning all about the Bad Kitty series and how their favorite feline has evolved over the past 20 years. They also had the chance to collaborate with Nick, and each other, to create their very own story, starring a new animal hero: a dog trying to eat a chocolate cake off the dinner table! 🐶🍰
The NEW #East School playground extension is now open! 🎉 Principal Robinson helped kick things off with a class of excited students who took the first ride down the new slide, climbed the rock wall, and tested out all the new features, including an ADA-compliant swing, that makes it more fun and inclusive for everyone! Even Officer Bentley couldn’t resist the excitement!
Coppo Field is officially open! 🎉 Thank you to our #NCHS students, staff, families, and community leaders for coming together to celebrate this incredible milestone. A lasting tribute to Joe Coppo and a bright future for youth sports in New Canaan.

🎶🔴 On April 22, the #NCHS Music Department proudly welcomed 18 new members into the Tri-M Music Honor Society! These students were selected for their academic excellence, musical talent, and community contributions—true examples of dedication and heart.
We also celebrated 16 seniors with Tri-M honor cords and pins, recognizing their ongoing commitment to music and service.
A heartfelt thank you to guest speaker First Selectman Dionna Carlson for making the evening even more meaningful! 🔴🎵
🏃♀️Today’s Walk to School Day at #SouthSchool and #SaxeMS was a paws-itively awesome way to start the morning! ☀️
Families walked and biked to school, shared coffee and donuts, danced to the Macarena and YMCA, and enjoyed time together before the bell rang.
Big thanks to SRO Vartuli for walking with our students (and rocking the blue dog paws to help with traffic!) and to SRO Blank for spreading smiles on the Saxe golf cart! What a fun and active way to kick off the day!
Big news at #WestSchool! 🎉 Please join us in congratulating Ms. Valeska Diaz, our new Administrative Assistant!
Since 2022, Ms. Diaz has been a beloved member of our school community—serving as a teaching assistant, guest teacher, the friendly face during drop-off and dismissal, and the go-to coordinator for the Parks and Rec Afterschool Program.
She’s known for her warmth, professionalism, and the way students light up when they see her. We’re so lucky to have her in this new role! 💚

#FridaySmiles Congratulations to Ben Bognon, the winner of the Carriage Barn Arts Center’s Scholarship Award, and all the incredible artists who showcased their work at Through Our Eyes XIII last night! 🎨✨ Nearly 100 #NCHS students shared their talent across various mediums, drawing a fantastic crowd to celebrate their pieces. The exhibit will be open for view until March 30th, so stop by to support our student artists and celebrate thier talenet, deciation, and creativty.
👏 Our 2025 Career Night was a huge success! 👏 Always a pleasure welcoming so many talented professionals—including 9 returning alumni—back to the halls of #NCHS to speak with our students.
