Dear Families,
We are writing to inform you of important improvements to our AM and PM bus services, effective Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Due to this summer’s flawed implementation of a new software system, our transportation system has been sub-optimal since the start of the year. This summer’s implementation resulted in routes that were sometimes too long, arrived late, and required some students to be at stops during dark hours.
I’m happy to share that we’ve completed rebuilding the proven routes of the past, and we are preparing to implement these revised bus routes starting on January 20, 2026.
What is changing?
Reverting to Previous Routes: We have recreated the bus routes used during the 2024-2025 school year. These routes were thoroughly vetted during our transition to new school start times, and serve as our standard.
Better Schedules: Bus numbers, along with stop times and locations, have been carefully reviewed and reassigned as needed to ensure runs are efficient. Some buses, stops, and timings will change based upon this analysis, while others will remain the same.
Next Steps: Please look for an email tomorrow (1/7) with updated information about your child’s bus, location, and timing for AM and PM routes, to begin on Jan. 20.
After reviewing this updated information, please reach out to the transportation department directly at 203-594-4039 with any questions or concerns. As noted above, some buses/stops/timings will change while others will remain the same.
Please note that these updated routes and assignments will be in effect starting January 20, 2026.
