On Thursday 9/29, all South students attended a performing arts assembly where the Cool Cat Jazz Band performed songs ranging from New Orleans Jazz to Swing Jazz. They learned about different instruments such as the trumpet, trombone, clarinet, bass, drums, banjo and more. They explored the culture and heroes associated with Jazz music. Students sang, clapped and had a blast with the Cool Cat Jazz Band. Thank you to our parent community/PTC for their financial support, the PTC Performing Arts Committee, and the Connecticut Arts for Learning for bringing this fabulous program to our school.
