During the first week of June, South School proudly recognized the accomplishments and milestones of our fourth-grade students during the annual Fourth Grade Moving Up Celebration. This special event honored the hard work, growth, and resilience of our students as they prepare to transition to the next chapter of their educational journey.
Throughout their years at South, this group of students has demonstrated perseverance, compassion, and curiosity, qualities that have shaped them into the outstanding young scholars they are today. Their journey was anything but typical; they began kindergarten in the fall of 2020, as our school community adapted to the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the uncertainty and obstacles of those early years, our fourth graders showed incredible resilience and determination, rising above challenges and making meaningful contributions to our school community.
We thank each student for the unique impact they’ve made—both individually and collectively—and for the energy, kindness, and leadership they brought to our classrooms, hallways, and beyond.
As they move on to fifth grade, we send them off with heartfelt congratulations and our very best wishes for continued success. We are incredibly proud of all they’ve accomplished and know they will continue to thrive in the years ahead.
