Dear NCHS Family,

We are excited to share a fresh and engaging approach to our first day of school this year! In the past, we began with an abbreviated schedule for grades 10–12, followed by afternoon freshman orientation. This year, we’re flipping the script to create a more inclusive and spirited experience for everyone.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Freshman Orientation: The day kicks off at 8:00 AM in the auditorium with a warm welcome for our newest students. This is a fantastic opportunity for freshmen to get acclimated, meet classmates, and start building connections.

  • Senior Breakfast: At 8:30 AM, our seniors will enjoy a brand-new tradition—a special breakfast in the parking lot. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the start of their final year together!

  • Abbreviated Class Schedule: At 10:00 AM, all students in grades 9–12 will begin an abbreviated class schedule.

  • Buses: Buses will operate at their regular schedules. For students in grades 10 and 11 who take the bus, there will be activities in the cafeteria, and the cafeteria will be open for breakfast. This is a great chance to relax and catch up with friends before classes begin.

We’re looking forward to starting the year with a day full of community, school spirit, and new traditions. More details will be shared as we get closer to the first day.

I hope you are all enjoying a restful and fun summer with family and friends. You’ll hear from me again in August, but in the meantime, please make the most of your summer break! As always, feel free to reach out if you need anything.

Best wishes,

Bill Egan
Principal
