Welcome back! I hope you had a fun and adventurous summer and are excited to begin a new academic year at New Canaan High School. As the proud principal of this exceptional school, it is my privilege to extend a warm welcome to all our returning students and an equally enthusiastic greeting to our new students joining us for the first time.
With the beginning of another school year, we want to ensure you stay well-informed about all the happenings, events, and important updates. Our website is your go-to source for year-round information, including school news, calendars, academic resources, extracurricular activities, and more! The Weekly Update recaps daily happenings in and outside the classroom and is emailed every Friday afternoon and uploaded to the site as well. We also send announcements and quick updates throughout the school year from our Twitter account @NCHS_CT.

Starting this school year, the revised NCHS schedule will better reflect how we prioritize our time, and concurrently, there will be a fresh rollout of what was formerly known as Connections. This new programming approach is called The Building Block. Wednesdays are now the only day with a differing schedule, and the content of this flex block on Wednesdays will alternate between Academic time, the Broadcast, Community, and Counseling. - Student schedules available for viewing after 3pm.
Tuesday, August 29
- 8:00 am First Day of School - FOR ALL STUDENTS, Grades 9-12
- 11:55 pm Dismissal for Grades 10, 11, 12 ONLY (Buses run on the regular dismissal schedule at 2:30 pm)
- 12:00 pm Freshmen Lunch & Orientation until 2:30 pm
Wednesday, September 13
- 6:30 pm OPEN HOUSE - Freshmen Parent Orientation
- 7:00 pm OPEN HOUSE - All Grades
