The Music Man @ NCHS! Opening This Thursday! 3/9-3/11

This Thursday is opening night for NCHS's production of The Music Man!

One of the most universally cherished treasures of the American musical theater, The Music Man was an instant smash hit when it premiered on Broadway on December 19, 1957. It went on to win five Tony Awards, including the prize for Best Musical, and ran for 1,375 performances. The Smithsonian Institution ranks The Music Man as one of the “great glories” of American popular culture. Truly an event for all ages from grandkids to grandparents, you don’t want to miss this amazing production.

The Music Man follows traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he fast-talks the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments for a boy's percussion band he's trying to put together. Unbeknownst to them, Hill has no intention on using the money for good, and plans on skipping town with the cash, until he meets local librarian, Marian, who transforms him from a scam artist into a respectable citizen by the end of the show.

These students have worked incredibly hard across the board (sets, costumes, props, singing, dancing, orchestra), so please come support them!
