West School welcomed Cool Cats Jazz! This was our first Performing Arts Committee (PAC) of the year. The jazz band used a "time machine" metaphor to teach the "Roots of Jazz". Students were introduced to a range of music and instruments spanning a 200 year history in our country. New Orleans “Jazz”, “Swing” and "Rock and Roll" were highlighted during each performance. This interactive experience invited students to sing, respond and clap along, and experience a variety of instruments and their role in music history. Students enjoyed the performance and a special thanks is extended to our PTC for bringing this Visual and Performing Arts to West. Many thanks for our PTC’s continued partnership.
