Freedom of Information Act Requests (FOIA)

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) allows members of the public to request access to existing public records maintained by the district. New Canaan Public Schools complies with all applicable CT State FOIA regulations and is committed to transparency and public access to records.

All public records requests should be submitted in writing using the online request form linked below.

Submitted requests become public records and may be subject to disclosure under FOIA. FOIA requests should be limited to requests for existing records. General questions or requests for information that do not involve identifiable records are not considered valid FOIA requests.

Please note: Before submitting a FOIA request, we encourage you to first search the New Canaan Public Schools website to see if the information you need is already publicly available.
