Joining the Norwalk Youth Symphony’s debut concert for the 2018-2019 season earlier this month were New Canaan High School sophomores Noah Dorfsman on cello and Lillie Gray on violin, and juniors Cella Cove on viola, Alyssa Khoo on violin, Bart Codd on violin, and Johanna O'Brien on viola.

These six students are members of the Norwalk Youth Symphony's Principal Orchestra, which is its most advanced ensemble and is comprised of players who demonstrate highly advanced technical and musical ability.

They are also active members of the New Canaan High School Orchestra that will be performing at 7 p.m., December 11, at New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road, in New Canaan, under the direction of Leo Ficks, NCHS Orchestra Director. The program will feature works by the Rolling Stones, Dave Brubeck, Antonine Dvorak, Georges Bizet, among others.

Some of these students will also be accompanying the High School Choir's rendition of Eric Whitacre's "Five Hebrew Love Songs" on December 12, at 7 p.m. at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge in New Canaan.
