East Remote Learning, Week of January 4th

Dear Parents,

As noted in Dr. Luizzi’s December 21, 2020, Superintendent’s Communication, NCPS will engage in remote learning for the week of January 4, 2021. 

On Monday, January 4th, all students should log into their school day at 9:05AM using their class Zoom link posted in See Saw or Google Classroom. Classroom teachers will review remote learning expectations that morning. These remote learning expectations include: being dressed for school (no pajamas on these remote learning days, please), learning in a quiet work space, wearing headphones, and keeping cameras on throughout the day. Each class will have a one-hour lunch/recess break mid-day and the remote learning day will end at 3:00PM. (Wednesday, January 6th, will be an early release day at 12:05PM.)

Classroom teachers will provide live instruction throughout the day, but there will also be periods of independent work for students. Students should remain signed on to the class Zoom link even during independent work times to ensure that classroom teachers can monitor their work and learning. Cameras should be on throughout the day and students should be visible to teachers unless students have indicated a need for a break (bathroom, etc.). Students are also expected to participate fully in the specials class (art, music, PE, etc.) that is scheduled for the day. The remote learning schedule for each grade level is provided below; classroom teachers may adjust based on curriculum and student needs and will communicate such adjustments as needed to families.
