September 10, 2020, It's been a busy week

September 10, 2020

Dear Parent(s) or Guardian:

It has been a busy week as we navigated remote learning for students for the first time. We appreciate the support and patience from all as students, staff, and families partnered in this new experience. The notes of gratitude from families have been greatly appreciated by staff. Each day has brought more and more success and our students are quickly learning how to navigate their devices, while teachers are trying out new ways to use the devices to connect students and build learning experiences for all.
We thought families might enjoy some photos of “what’s happening” at East and then please read on for information about what’s ahead for the upcoming week!

Remote Learning Expectations and Guidelines - Gentle Reminders

  • As we continue with our days of remote learning this week, please keep in mind that students are expected to log into their class Zoom link by 9:05AM each day and follow their teacher’s instruction and the class schedule throughout the full day.

  • Attendance is taken each morning and following transitions to ensure students are present and engaged at home throughout the day. Children will be marked absent if they are not present remotely for the instruction throughout the day.

  • If your child is unable to participate in remote learning on a given day, please call the Attendance line at school to report your child absent and indicate the reason.

  • If your child experiences difficulties with their school issued device, please contact the district technology team by sending an email with your child’s name, grade, building and issue to studenthelpdesk@ncps-k12.org
