Mr. Salkever, the co-author of “Your Happiness Was Hacked: Why Tech Is Winning the Battle to Control Your Brain - And How to Fight Back,” will focus on helping us to better understand the impact of technology on the lives of our students, their parents and the family as a whole. In his talk, he will provide practical tools to help us purposefully and effectively use technology while protecting the well-being of our children and ourselves.
The first 100 people to arrive at the event will receive a copy of the book, “Your Happiness Was Hacked,” which have been generously purchased by New Canaan Cares for this event.
“We are fortunate to have such an expert as Mr. Salkever addressing a topic that is so vital to our students’ and to our own health and well-being,” said Dr. Bryan Luizzi, NCPS Superintendent of Schools. “His appearance continues the important work we are doing with Emotional Intelligence throughout the district, as we focus on educating the whole child. We thank the New Canaan PTCs and PFA for their generosity in presenting his appearance and New Canaan Cares for providing Mr. Salkever’s book.”

He has been a chief marketing officer, a Businessweek editor, a visiting researcher at Duke University, and a senior executive at leading technology companies including as Vice President at Mozilla.
