Students in Grade 7 workshop will all receive one quarter of STEM during their workshop rotation. What is STEM? STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is an an interdisciplinary and applied approach to engaging students in authentic learning experiences.
Students are automatically enrolled in a STEM course taught by their core science teacher. During this time, students will apply the design process to solve problems, develop design solutions and understand the influence of creativity and innovation in their lives.or
Students in grade 7 could enroll in Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Design and Modeling. During this time, students will be applying the design process and utilizing Autodesk® design software to create virtual images of their designs and produce a portfolio to showcase their innovative solutions. Students in grade 8 could enroll in Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Automation and Robotics. During this time, students will be applying the design process and use the VEX Robotics platform to design, build and program real world objects.
