    Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year! We are looking forward to another wonderful year of providing nutritious and delicious food to everyone!

We are excited to offer students’ favorite meals and a variety of options we know they will enjoy that are healthy, well balanced and provide students the nutrition they need to succeed at school. We appreciate your support and look forward to serving your children fresh and nutritious offerings at school.

At the elementary schools, our focus is on laying the foundation for good nutrition habits and on encouraging students’ to build balanced meals by incorporating fruits and vegetables and essentially eating the “rainbow” with colorful food on their trays.

All elementary lunch meals include unlimited whole fruit & vegetables, choice of milk, small juice or small water for $3.50. The lunch process for each elementary student starts with their teacher getting lunch counts for each student daily in the classroom. The lunch count sheet is given to the cafeteria staff to prepare the specific amount of food accordingly.

At the middle school and high school, as students increase their independence and responsibilities, the cafeteria offers an increased variety of options. The high school and middle school cafeterias are set up more like a food court with different stations, as opposed to a cafeteria line at the elementary schools. Hot lunch is $4.00.

Parents of students with allergies, please email me at michelle.santelli@ncps-k12.org to schedule a meeting with myself and my dietitian Jill Patterson. We can then come up with a plan together for your child to participate in the school lunch program.

To make online payments, view your child’s purchasing history, or sign up for low balance alerts; the district will be moving forward with Titan School Solutions. More to come in the near future.

If you would like to set a spending limit or add notations on your student’s lunch account, please email Ronald Manente at ronald.manente@ncps-k12.org with specific information.
