Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Karen Pierce
My teaching career spans several states: Delaware, Montana, Wyoming, and Connecticut.
My passion for teaching began when I was in elementary school and has only grown over the years. Every year students bring new insights, energy and enthusiasm to our learning community. There are always surprises and challenges around every corner that give us pause and offer a new path to problem solving.
My husband and I have two grown sons : Douglas and his wife MAggie live in Pennsylvania, David is a senior in college. Our black lab/hound mix nine year old "puppy" loves being the "only child"!
If you were to peek into my summer mornings, you would usually find me sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee and my journal in my lap. Sunlight would be splashing across the treetops, while finches, nuthatches, chickadees and hummingbirds flitted through the leaves to various feeders posted in our yard. Days were spent with family and evenings ended as they had begun; on the deck studying the constellations , serenaded by crickets and peepers.
I am looking forward to the wondrous sounds that fill the halls and classrooms as they come back to life after a summer hibernation!
