    Advanced Placement Statistics

    (College Board Approved)


    Grade: 11 - 12

    Duration: 2 Semesters

    Prerequisite: Grade in high C range in M4 Precalculus or meet level-change criteria in M3 Precalculus and
    teacher recommendation

    Credit: 0.5 per semester

    Emphasizing data collection, summarization, analysis, and interpretation as the basis for decision-making under
    uncertainty, this course focuses on the modern practice of statistics with references to published research in the
    social sciences and physical sciences. Students will study numerical and graphical summaries of data, probability,
    hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and regression. The TI-84 calculator, SAS, and Microsoft Excel will be used
    extensively. Students will be prepared to take the AP examination in Statistics.
    With teacher recommendation, Students may take this course concurrently with M3 Calculus, AP Calculus, or
    Multivariable Calculus.
