• The Town of New Canaan

    New Canaan's Recreation Department offers many different services and activities for residents to take part in. From the New Canaan Library to Waveny Park, so much is offered that can be taken advantage of with the right information. Below are links to much of what our town offers.

New Canaan Library
  • This is where you can go to borrow books or find a computer that you can use to access the internet. The library also offers many special events for kids or adults.                                                                                                   

Waveny Pool
  • Waveny Pool is a popular destination during the summer for a quick easy way to cool off and enjoy some time with friends. The pool has two diving boards, pool basketball, a ping pong table, and a kiddy pool for younger children. Pool passes can be bought at the Waveny House.

YMCA
  • The YMCA is a great place to go for many youth activities including basketball and swimming. They offer many programs to teach children how to swim and also offers many different wellness programs to adults.                                

Vine Cottage
  • The Health and Human Services Commission develops and coordinates information regarding all age groups. It creates community focus to evaluate and create programs that meet the community's needs.

Waveny House
  • The Waveny House is the host of many concerts during the summer. It is an historic landmark in New Canaan and is a popular place to find open fields. It can be accessed from either of two entrances to Waveny Park and is open to the public.

Parks in New Canaan
  • The Town of New Canaan has four parks: Mead Park, Waveny Park, Kiwanis Park, and Irwin Park. Mead, Waveny, and Irwin are free to all visitors and are also the sites of many of the fields for our town's youth teams such as soccer and baseball.
