    Credit: 0.5 per Semester

    A continuation of the ninth grade offering, but with emphasis on bringing students to an understanding of nationalism, democratic ideas, and the impact of scientific knowledge and industrial growth on cultural and intellectual trends. Content will include the French Revolution, the Cold War and the post-Cold War era. Students will also compare the concepts of Fascism, Socialism, and Communism.

    Research, document analysis and writing skills continue to be stressed through individual and group projects, document-based  questions, essays and position papers. A historical vocabulary will be emphasized in group discussions and oral debates and presentations. Most importantly, students will learn to sort out information and analyze and develop points of view.
