    The aim of this course is to achieve fluency in reading Latin, further develop  an appreciation for both Latin prose, and prepare students for the Latin SAT II. This course is where students make their first incursions in  authentic literature of the Golden Age. Critical reading and erudite literature based writing is the focus of at least two major summative assessments. Participation in The National Latin Exam level IV Prose is required. Frequent formative assessments (in class, at home, and on-line) and summative (including internet and  class projects) ensure retention of material and a chance to succeed.
