AP Physics C is a calculus-based course that prepares a student to take the Physics Advanced Placement Examinations, Level C (both Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism exams). Topics include: vectors, motion in one dimension, motion in a plane, forces, Newton’s laws, work, energy, conservation of energy, momentum, rotational motion, oscillations, and gravitation, electric charge, electric field, direct current circuits, magnetism, inductance, electromagnetic oscillations, alternating current circuits, and electromagnetic waves. Physical phenomena will be investigated in a more comprehensive nature that will include the use of calculus to account for factors that are changing either in time or space. Advanced laboratory reports and problem sets are used to determine grades.
Enrollment in this course involves mandatory summer reading assignment.
