    Prerequisite: Precalculus and teacherrecommendation

    Credit: 0.5 per semester

    This is a full-year course for students who have completed Precalculus and plan to move on to calculus in college. The course integrates a review and extension the study of functions in preparation for Calculus with a study of the essential principles of differential calculus. Units of study include: limits, continuity, trigonometry, polar and parametric representations, derivatives, inverses, applications of derivatives, sequences, logic, and set theory.

    The goals of the course are deep understanding and retention of skills and concepts, not mere exposure. This course should be followed by college-level calculus or AP Calculus.
