For Rising 7th and 8th grader girls. The program will start Wednesday, September 1. We play at the track field at the New Canaan High School. Girls who will be in 7th and 8th grade fall 2010 are encouraged to join the team! The 7th & 8th Grade New Canaan Field Hockey program will take on a travel format once again this year. This program will meet twice a week, Monday and Wednesday (4:30-6pm) for practice and on weekends for games; usually Saturdays. New Canaan High School Varsity Field Hockey Coach Erin Gildea will be coaching these teams. We encourage those who are new to the game to join NCFH! Equipment needed to participate: Shin guards, goggles, sticks, and a mouth pieces are required. Registration started May 25. Program Dates: September 1- November 7th (10 weeks). We will have a “Meet and Greet the Coach” for parents and students Thursday June 3rd, 2:55 pm, in the Saxe New Gym. Information is available on the website. http://www.fcfha.com. Click on New Canaan. Please be sure to consider New Canaan Sports Council (NCSC) summer camps when making your summer plans. The 2010 summer camp schedule can be found at www.ncsportscouncil.com. The NCSC has been sponsoring camps to help children in New Canaan enhance their skills in a wide variety of sports for over 20 years. All camps are directed by New Canaan Coaches, many include high school athletes as counselors, and are conveniently located in town. If your daughter would like to participate in the Memorial Day Parade, registration needs to be received by Friday, May 15th.
